Hello Fellas, I got this from the 2018 film Christopher Robin. It is just nice to know that such simple saying can create an impact to everyone’s life. It may sound cliché, but honestly it is often neglected by many even myself.
Growing up, I realized how hard it is to balance work, family, relationship and everything in between. Whatever you prioritize, there is this thing called a sense of gratitude. You’ve read it correctly! Admit it, we cannot survive every life’s struggle with no one to lean on and thus, we also cannot just leave them behind after all the care and understanding they have given to us.
Say for example, at work, I am pretty sure that most of us in general will not be able to surpass the hardships of extreme labor without any support system coming from our colleagues or loved ones. What we have achieved and what will be receiving in life is also their achievement for there is really no such thing as being alone for life. You may not have a family but I guess, everyone has that someone in our lives to help us get through it. It may not be by blood, but the connection or support system is there. Not just humans alone, but can also be your pet or plant you used to do a pep talk with. It’s quite weird, but though they are not responding exactly as humans, they are also alive and may somehow help you cope with reality.
Why am I sharing about this stuff?
Simply because I want everyone to remember that having a break doesn’t actually mean doing nothing, but rather creating a way to reconnect with your loved ones or someone who also needs your attention or support. Please do thank them and remind them how blessed you are to have them in your life. It may just be a simple gesture of love, but even small things can rekindle connection or friendship. We humans are wired to communicate and it won’t hurt our lives spending it for someone that also deserves it.
Try to observe your surroundings, maybe you need to water your plant or remove the dirt/dead leaves from them. Maybe your dog/cat needs a haircut or a bath. Or simply need a walk and play with them from time to time. You may also need some time alone to reflect or repent for your shortcomings. This may also be a chance for you to fix your stuff at home. Now, take this opportunity for the betterment of yourself. You might set a date for your loved ones or to whoever you ever wanted to express gratitude with, but failed to do so because of so much stuff on your plate.
Furthermore, also make a habit to cut your routine every once in awhile for there is so much thing in life and that is their presence. Do yourself a favor, make a call to your parents in case there has been an argument that hasn’t been able to solve. Ask for a vacation/sick leave in case your body is telling you to rest or might need a checkup. You may also request for a meetup with someone in case you want to ask for forgiveness. Reconciliation or closure is also a good thing ’cause you are freeing yourself from a heavy heart and hopefully, that will also go the same way for him /her.
In this time of pandemic, that does not mean we are constrained to do something about it. Nothing is ever limited to those who are willing enough to make time for those things you have failed doing so and is now willing to make amends.
On that note, doing nothing often leads to the very best of something because you are taking your time to redirect yourself; to correct what you have done wrong in your life; to appreciate their existence and worth. And most importantly, to realize God’s mercy that in everything we do, He is just there next to us who is always ready to extend his hands whenever we feel like quitting or giving up.
I hope I made you smile today and whatever you may be struggling, we got your back! Kindly leave us a comment below in case you need to voice out something or just want to give a feedback about this post.
